Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues Stars Talk Movie’s Cut Musical Number

“Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” is full of surprises and cameos, there’s one major scene from the movie audiences will not see – at least during its initial release.

“There was an entire musical number that we spent a week shooting,” Steve Carell told Access Hollywood at the movie’s junket.

“[It] was cut from the final movie,” he explained. “It was very good and we all thought, ‘Boy, this is gonna be a real cornerstone of this entire thing,’ but I guess it just took a left turn.”

According to fellow star Paul Rudd, the scene should appear in some form, possibly as an extra DVD feature.

“It was lengthy and it also was happening at a time where the story had really kicked in and at a certain point, you have to take into consideration the film’s running length and get in essentially the story, but I think that that will surface at some point,” he told Access.

Access also caught up with the stars at the movie’s premiere, where we asked about a possible third installment from Ron Burgundy.

“I don’t know,” Will Ferrell said. “Right now we’re just enjoying the moment of this one and we’re gonna see what happens and we’ll go from there.”

Christina Applegate, on the other hand, is ready for more.

“I don’t want to wait nine years. I would do it next year if I could,” she said of making a third movie.

“Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” opens on December 18, 2013.
