Anderson Cooper Talks ‘Real Housewives’ Fascination & His Child Modeling Past

Anderson Cooper is making himself right at home in his new digs – and as the veteran newsman gets ready to launch his new syndicated daytime talk show, “Anderson,” Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson paid a visit to the set, where she heard him dish about one of Anderson’s most well-known guilty pleasures – the “Real Housewives.”

“It started with NeNe [Leakes] — she actually drunk dialed me, which is a whole other story,” he joked with Shaun of his allegiance to the “Real Housewives” franchise, calling himself a “long-time watcher.”

Jokes about one of Atlanta’s most notorious “Housewives” aside, Anderson also got serious when speaking of his recent interview with the cast of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” in the wake of the death of castmember Taylor Armstrong’s husband, Russell.

“We thought they might cancel (their appearance), but when they went ahead with the season, they showed up and we had a really interesting conversation,” Anderson explained.

During his interview with Shaun, Anderson also revealed a little-known fact about himself – his modeling past, noting he had spent a few years modeling as a child.

“They make child models do stupid things. It’s embarrassing. When you’re 10, 11, or 12, there are not many jobs you can do, and I really wanted to work and earn money,” he told Shaun. “I was the only one whose mom didn’t bring them any place. It was very strange. It was a very surreal situation.”

To see the complete interview with Anderson Cooper, tune in to Access Hollywood on Monday September 12 (check local listings).
