Angelina: ‘Next, We’ll Adopt’

NEW YORK (June 16, 2006) — Angelina Jolie opens up about her daughter?s terrifying birth in a brand new interview with Anderson Cooper.

Details on baby Shiloh?s arrival have been scarce since she was born on May 27. But now, Angelina explains what had her frightened in the delivery room.

In her first stateside interview since the birth, Angie confessed to CNN?s Anderson Cooper her fears during delivery.

?You?re just suddenly terrified they?re not going to take a first breath,? a candid Angelina revealed. ?You?re there for the birth, which I wasn?t for my first two kids and I just wanted to hear her cry.?

Both of Angelina?s other children — 16-month-old Zahara and 4-year-old Maddox — were adopted.

Angelina sat down exclusively with Cooper, who told Access Hollywood he was blown away by her motherly glow.

?It was four days after she got back from Namibia that we talked,? Anderson told Access. ?She?s Angelina Jolie. She looks amazing. She talked about what it was like giving birth in Namibia and why she chose there and what her plans are for a future family.?

As Cooper found out, it appears those plans include expanding the family.

?Next we?ll adopt,? Jolie said. ?We don’t know which — which country. But we’re looking at different countries? It’s gonna be the balance of what would be best for Mad and for Z right now. It’s, you know, another boy, another girl, which country, which race would fit best with the kids.”

Angelina also told Cooper that Shiloh?s daddy Brad Pitt was by mom?s side the entire time.

?He was in the operating room,? she said.

And not even giving birth can slow down Jolie, a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador, as she continues to speak out for her causes, as Cooper found out.

?Even in the midst of all this drama about her own family, she?s really focused on helping refugees overseas. She just doesn?t talk the talk, she walks the walk,? Anderson told Access. ?She?s been to more than 20 countries and she said she donates a third of her income to charity.?

Besides the third of her hefty paycheck, she is also donating the $4 million that Shiloh Nouvel?s premiere baby pics brought in.

But was there more than meets the eye to that deal?

In a bidding war for the photos, People magazine took top honors. People and CNN are both part of Time Warner, which raises the question ? was the interview with Cooper part of the deal?

?They came to us to do the interview,? Cooper told Access. ?We?ve done a lot of work in Africa and it?s a story I continue to focus on. She and I have both been in a lot of the same places and have had similar experiences.?

Anderson Cooper?s interview with Angelina Jolie is scheduled to air Tuesday on CNN?s “Anderson Cooper 360” (10 p.m. EDT).
