Anna Paquin, Ellen Page & Shawn Ashmore Added To X-Men: Days Of Future Past

Three more mutants are returning to Bryan Singer’s “X-Men” fold!

The “X-Men: Days of Future Past” director took to Twitter on Saturday to announce that Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore have been added to the growing roster of the upcoming superhero film.

“Very excited to welcome #annapaquin, @ellenpage & @shawnrashmore to #XMen #DaysofFuturePast,” he wrote, adding a note of thanks to the man at the helm of 2006’s “X-Men: The Last Stand.” “Thank you @BrettRatner for letting them live!”

Anna (who plays Marie/Rogue) and Shawn (Bobby Drake/Iceman) starred in 2000’s “X:Men,” 2003’s “X2” and 2006’s “The Last Stand,” while Ellen, who plays Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat, first arrived on the mutant scene in the third film in the franchise.

The trio joins a long list of former “X-Men” stars returning for “… Past.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Hugh Jackman will be back as Wolverine and Jennifer Lawrence will return as Raven/Mystique.

Additionally, Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen will reprise their roles as the older versions of Professor X and Magneto, respectively, while “X-Men: The First Class” stars James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender will return as the younger versions of the powerful mutants.

“X-Men: Days of Future Past” is set to hit theaters on July 18, 2014.
