Anna Trebunskaya On ‘Dancing’ Elimination With Sugar Ray Leonard: People ‘Maybe Felt Sorry For Kendra’ Wilkinson

Professional dancer Anna Trebunskaya missed out on the mirrroball again after being eliminated alongside former boxing champ Sugar Ray Leonard on Tuesday’s “Dancing with the Stars,” and she thinks she knows why.

“This happens. This has been happening a few times during the 12 seasons. People watch the show on Monday and they go, ‘Oh, this couple did really well.’ And they kind of relax and they don’t vote for you and even though Kendra [Wilkinson] had the lowest score — we were just a few scores higher than her, we did have an awesome night; we had a great performance – but people just kind of chilled and maybe felt sorry for Kendra and for people losing shoes and all that good stuff,” Anna told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Friday’s Access Hollywood Live.

Kendra, in fact, has made headlines for placing blame on her low dancing scores and her less-than-impressive ballroom performances on her partner, Louis van Amstel, and last week, on a smoke machine. Earlier this week, Kendra blamed female “hormones” after she snapped back at judge Carrie Ann Inaba after the judge criticized what she said was Kendra’s inability to embrace her elegance on the dance floor.

While Kendra and Louis continue on, and Kirstie Alley – whose shoe came off mid-dance – and Maksim Chmerkovskiy also continue their mirrorball battle, Anna and Sugar Ray are out.

“I’m not bitter,” Anna told Billy and Kit. “Well, maybe a little bit.”

Anna said she didn’t feel robbed because of their elimination, but she hopes people use it as inspiration to vote for the good dancers.

“The first time this happened [was] with Sabrina Bryan when she was one of the best dancers,” Anna said referring to the former Disney star’s elimination, alongside partner Mark Ballas, during Season 5. “Dancing wise, she should have been in the final and she got eliminated half way through the competition.

“If you like somebody and you’re cheering them on, and you’re enjoying their performance, you gotta vote for them, you can’t just sit and enjoy,” Anna added.
