Armie Hammer’s big screen “Lone Ranger” with Johnny Depp will come with more kick than previous versions of the iconic cowboy – along with cooler threads!
The 25-year-old star stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Thursday, where he chatted with Billy Bush and Kit Hoover about his upcoming Gore Verbinski-directed movie.
“I’m really glad they didn’t go with this like, skintight, baby blue, Lycra jumpsuit that the old Lone Ranger was wearing,” he said of cowboy duds for the movie.
Fans have only been given one photo from the movie, featuring Armie in a black mask and white hat alongside Johnny Depp’s Tonto with face paint and a crow-topped headdress.
“It’s a little bit more badass and little more realistic,” he continued.
The 6’ 5” actor explained that he rides a horse in the film — perfect for his large frame.
“We have one horse that is humongous,” he continued. “For anyone to get on this thing you need a stepladder, he’s a beast of burden!”
The actor stayed mum on most details about the cowboy movie, but did tell Billy and Kit, “There’s all kinds of fun stuff that’s going to happen on horses.”
“The Lone Ranger” is set to gallop into theaters on May 31, 2013, while Armie’s latest project, “Mirror Mirror” (co-starring Lily Collins and Julia Roberts) opens in theaters on March 30.
