Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger tied the knot in July and the couple says they are already starting to plan for a family.
“We both want [babies],” Chad told People.
Avril, 29, is promoting her new self-titled album, while Chad, 38, is about to tour Europe and South Africa with Nickelback, so working on adding children to the mix is currently presenting a scheduling challenge for the newlyweds.
“We just need to find a time we’re both home to get around to it!” Chad said.
The rocking couple also opened up about how they fell for each other while writing songs for Avril’s album.
“We bonded like crazy. It was like we’d known each other forever,” Avril told the mag. “It’s a very intimate process, and you have to really open up when you’re songwriting. When it was over and I had to go work with other people, it sucked. So I called him and asked him to come back to LA to do some more writing with me, and he was like, ‘Hell yeah!’”
The couple wrote a handful of lovey-dovey songs together (Chad joked they must’ve made their writing partner sick!) and debuted one of their romantic ballads at their summer wedding in France.
“We played our duet ‘If I Said I Loved You’ for our guests and danced to it for our first dance,” Avril said. “Our guests got to hear an exclusive song! It’s our love song. We had to play it at the wedding.”
