Jenna Fischer is pregnant with her first child and according to the actress, her character on “The Office” – Pam — is expecting her second.
“Pam will be pregnant when the season starts,” Jenna told New York Magazine’s Vulture blog. “Pam and Jim snuck away last season on Valentine’s Day, and they had sex. The story is that they conceived this baby at that time and were keeping it a secret until we come back from the summer.”
Jenna told the website it was a nice coincidence that Pam got pregnant for the second time in the February episode.
“When we started shooting that [Valentine’s Day] episode, I thought to myself, ‘If everything goes well, this is going to be a very, very convenient coincidence,’” the actress said. “And I think I found out I was pregnant when we were shooting that episode.”
“The Office” begins production on its 2011-2012 season next week, with new cast member James Spader, who is joining as the Dunder Mifflin office manager, before quickly using his charms to get promoted to CEO of Sabre, the parent company of the paper business.
