‘The Bachelorette’: Are Jordan Rodgers & JoJo Fletcher Facing Possible Long-Distance Woes?

Are JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers already facing their first major hurdle as a couple?

The engaged “Bachelorette” duo could soon be spending some serious time apart, as Jordan prepares to join ESPN’s SEC Network as a college football analyst on “SEC Now” later this month.

Jordan’s new gig was announced earlier this week, and will likely require him to work from SEC’s studios in Charlotte, N.C. on the weekends — a far cry from the Texas home where Jordan and JoJo are planning to settle.

“My bags are packed,” Jordan told Access Hollywood‘s Alex Hudgens on Tuesday, the morning after his proposal aired. “We’re moving to Dallas, we have a house.”

Despite the possible geographic conflict, it seems Jordan has had plenty of time to prepare for the career change – and keep his new fiancée informed.

The former Vanderbilt University quarterback’s new opportunity has apparently been unfolding over the last few months, prior to his appearance alongside JoJo on the ABC reality hit.

ESPN Senior Vice President Stephanie Druley told ESPNFrontRow.com that Jordan was one of their “first calls” when they began searching for candidates back in February.

“We first interviewed Jordan in March and he auditioned in May, before ‘The Bachelorette’ had begun airing,” she said. “We were struck by the clarity of his thought and strong, thoughtful opinion on the many layers of college football.”

The 27-year-old could be gone for days at a time each week, as he is assumedly needed at SEC headquarters for potential production meetings in addition to Saturday games.

Jordan and JoJo have yet to set a wedding date, but she told Access that what’s most important to them now is maximizing their time together off-camera.

“I know we’ve been shooting off random dates for 2017, but I think right now we’re just so excited to decompress, be with each other and enjoy this engagement,” JoJo said.

Jordan is set to make his “SEC Now” debut starting Aug. 23.
