‘Bachelorette’ Ashley Hebert Dishes On Suitors; Explains Masked Jeff

Ashley Hebert might not have won the heart of “Bachelor” Brad Womack, but last night she started her second search for love on the season premiere of “The Bachelorette.”

The reality TV cutie stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Tuesday where she explained some of the show’s standout suitors, including the masked man.

“When I first saw the mask [on Jeff] I thought, ‘What is he doing?’” Ashley told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover.

“Is it the fame thing? Are you just trying to get attention? But once I sat down and talk to him, he actually had a good reason,” she said of Jeff, who didn’t take his Batman-esque mask off all night. “I know it’s a little different, but I saw something really kind behind the mask in his blue eyes, so I wanted to give a chance.”

Other contestant standouts included a sleeping suitor – who got the boot – and Bentley, who revealed that he was hoping “The Bachelorette” was going to be last season’s “Bachelor” winner, Emily, and that he wasn’t attracted to Ashley.

“This is a big surprise me and it’s pretty hurtful,” she said of learning that Bentley wasn’t genuinely interested in her. However, she wouldn’t reveal if Bentley will be sticking around.

Ashley also revealed to Billy and Kit that she had trepidations about searching for love again on TV after “Bachelor” Brad didn’t pick her.

“Watching myself and saying, ‘Who would really want to date me?’ Who would want to date somebody who looked so insecure? So going into it I had a few insecurities and they were highlighted, even that first night, even before I showed up!” she explained. “I feel like I was little needy. I think I didn’t know how to date in that environment… I didn’t want to believe that he actually like me… I was very resistant. I guess I was protecting myself.”

Adding that Brad not selecting her initially devastated her.

“I think I realized that we’re very different and we’re living very different lifestyles and we want something very different out of a relationship,” she said of Brad. “He broke my heart then, absolutely.”

“The Bachelorette” airs Mondays at 8 PM on ABC.
