‘Bachelorette’ Couple Ali & Roberto On Keeping Their Romance From The Paparazzi

“Bachelorette” star Ali Fedotowsky and her fiance, Roberto Martinez, can finally show their love for each other in public, but a few months ago, things were cloak and dagger as the couple were forced to keep their romance a secret.

“We had a weekend in Palm Springs together and I actually got followed by the paparazzi, two hours out there from LA,” Ali told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson on Tuesday of one of her distressing experiences. “I went to the police station and asked them to help me and they wouldn’t help me. They’re like, ‘It’s the paparazzi, there’s nothing we can do. It’s a free country.’”

Another incident with photographers in pursuit of the pretty blonde reduced Ali to tears.

“I was going to visit him and I was being followed by like, eight cars and I pulled over to the side of the road and I started crying and I called him,” Ali explained.

“It’s so hard not to be there for those moments,” Roberto added.

Now that her choice has been revealed, Roberto can be there for those moments. The couple are happier than ever and are already thinking about the wedding they revealed on “After the Final Rose” is likely to happen next spring or summer.

In fact, Ali and Roberto said they might even be willing to put their nuptials on the small screen, Trista & Ryan style – sponsored by ABC.

“We’ve talked about that,” Ali confirmed. “At first we were like, ‘No!’ And then we thought about [it]. A wedding’s expensive and if ABC would sort of take care of us we could take that money and invest it in our children and our home and things that are going to affect our every day life… Why invest that in one day when we can invest that in our lives.

Roberto too would appreciate an offer from ABC to film and sponsor their big day.

“I agree with her. If we can [save that] money or put it into or house or something else, I think that’s a smart call,” he said. “Plus, I’ve got a big family [and that gets] expensive.”

In related news, Ali, who recently signed with William Morris Endeavor Agency, hinted she has an interest in another ABC reality show – “Dancing with the Stars,” but hasn’t been offered it – yet.

“Will you be doing Dancing with the Stars?” Shaun asked.

“I don’t know. As of now, no, ‘cause they haven’t asked me. So I don’t know,” she said.

“If they came to you today and asked would you do it?” Shaun continued

“Of course,” Ali responded.

Roberto too said he would also consider a ballroom offer if one came his way.

“I think it would be so much fun,” he said. “I’d have to give it a little bit of thought just because of work and stuff but I’d entertain it for sure.”
