Barbra Streisand: Who Convinced Her To Star In The Guilt Trip?

Seth Rogen goes on a road trip adventure with Barbra Streisand in his new comedy, “The Guilt Trip,” but getting the legend to sign on to the movie wasn’t a piece of cake.

“She made it very difficult.” Seth laughed, when he hit the red carpet at the film’s premiere with his movie mom, Barbra, in Los Angeles on Tuesday night.

“I did, because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do it,” Barbra chimed in. “So I said things like, ‘I really don’t want to go cross country. I like sleeping in my bed. So, can you do sort of in the Valley?’ And, ‘I don’t like to get up that early, I’m a night hawk. So can you shoot after 8:30 not… early in the morning?’ And so forth.

“And they sort of accommodated me so I had to do it,” Barbra said.

Also instrumental in getting her to become the part of a film about a son, who takes his mother with him on a road trip on the way to a big business presentation, was Barbra’s own son — Jason Gould.

“He said, ‘Mom, I think you should do it,’ and I listen to my son,” Barbra explained to Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson at the film’s junket on Tuesday afternoon.

“He thought I should do it. He liked it. It’s a mother and son thing,” she added.

Barbra said she enjoyed the experience.

“We had fun,” she said. “We had a lot of fun.”

“The Guilt Trip” hits theaters on December 19, 2012
