‘The Americans’ To Return For 2 More Seasons On FX Before Bowing Out

“The Americans” will conclude its series run on FX with two more seasons, the network announced Wednesday.

A 13-episode fifth season will air in 2017, followed by a 10-episode sixth and final season in 2018, FX said.

“The Americans” is a period drama about the marriage of two KGB spies posing as Americans in suburban Washington during the Reagan administration. The arranged marriage of Philip (played by Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth (co-star Keri Russell) grows increasingly passionate, but so do the pressures and demands of their assignment as Soviet spies whose real identities must never be discovered.
