Ben Affleck To Star & Direct ‘The Batman’?

Will Batfleck take flight in his own spinoff?

A new report claims that Ben Affleck will direct and star in his own standalone movie, reportedly titled “The Batman.”

Latino Review reported that the movie will be written by Chris Terrio, who worked on “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” and will hit theaters on November 2, 2018.

If “The Batman” happens, it will be the fifth time the actor dons the iconic cowl and cape, first in “Dawn of Justice,” then “Suicide Squad,” followed by two installments of “Justice League.” The reported release date of “The Batman” is situated between the two-part “Justice League.”

The release of the reported movie, November 2, 2018, is also noteworthy as it’s the same day Marvel has selected to debut its first female-driven superhero movie, “Captain Marvel.”

The rival superhero studios had a previous showdown when “Dawn of Justice” and “Captain America: Civil War” were both initially slated to open on the same day in May 2016. Warner Bros. was first to blink in the showdown and moved their Batman/Superman film to March 2016.

Will “The Batman” (if it gets made!) square off against “Captain Marvel” come 2018?

Access has reached out to Warner Bros. for comment on rumors of “The Batman.”
