Betty White Enrolls For NBC’s ‘Community’

Betty White is heading back to school.

The former “Golden Girl” will guest star on the Season Two premiere of NBC’s “Community” as Professor June Bauer, “an esteemed, albeit slightly unhinged, anthropology professor,” Entertainment Weekly reported.

Her role on “Community” is just one of many recent gigs for the Hollywood veteran. In May, she proved she still had some sharp comedic chops, becoming the oldest person to host “Saturday Night Live,” which earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.

Her new hit TV Land show, “Hot In Cleveland,” earned 4.75 million viewers for its premiere episode last week, setting a TV Land record.

Off-screen, Betty is also becoming Hollywood’s new pin-up girl. As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the 88-year-old actress is posing for her own 2011 calendar, with all proceeds benefitting the Morris Animal Foundation.

“Community” premieres September 23 at 8 PM on NBC.
