‘Biggest Loser’ Contestant To Run Country Music Marathon

Former “Biggest Loser” contestant Dane Patterson is preparing to run a 26.2-mile marathon for more than just personal satisfaction.

After recently being eliminated from “The Biggest Loser: Couples,” Patterson attempted to run a marathon, and caused controversy when footage aired during a “Where Are They Now?” segment for the reality show revealed he had not run the whole way.

“Before I even started the race, building up to it, I didn’t think I had a time limit,” Patterson explained. “I was planning on doing it between seven and eight hours – I was planning on taking my time. Then when I got there, the producers told me I needed to do it in under six hours.”

After completing 17 of the 26 miles, Patterson realized that he wouldn’t be able to finish in time, and was driven three miles up the road by producers to continue running from there.

On April 25, Patterson will run in the Country Music Marathon in Nashville, Tennessee, to redeem himself and to prove that he can complete a full marathon on his own.

“I am thrilled to have this opportunity and encourage other runners to come out and join me on this course,” Patterson said.
