Bill Nye’s ‘Heartbreaking’ Dancing With The Stars Elimination

After an injury last week, Bill Nye was sent packing on “Dancing with the Stars.”

“It’s heartbreaking,” the 57-year-old “Science Guy” star told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson following Monday’s show.

“It’s disappointing, but rationally it’s for the best,” the star, who tore his quadriceps tendon last week, continued.

Bill, who tied with Valerie Harper for the lowest score of the night, compared his injury to a “red hot knitting needle… [stuck] in your thigh.”

The “Science Guy” told Shaun that he and partner Tyne Stecklin had more ballroom fight left in them.

“I think we would have gone another week,” he said.

As for his injury, Bill said he’s hopeful he’ll make a full recovery and will know more later this week.

“I will see a physician on Wednesday,” he added.

During the “DWTS” broadcast, he thanked his fellow competitors and the judges for his time spent on the ABC reality competition.

“Thanks for keeping me in this long,” he said after his elimination. “These other people are extraordinary. It’s been really cool. It’s been a great experience.”
