Blake Shelton Prepares For ‘SNL’: I Have ‘No Pride,’ Will Try Anything

Blake Shelton is taking country to “Saturday Night Live.”

The superstar singer will host this weekend’s “SNL” and pull double duty as the show’s musical guest – and if he’s feeling any nerves over the big night, he’s keeping them well-hidden!

“I’m looking forward to whatever they want to throw at me here,” the “Lonely Tonight” singer said at “SNL” rehearsal in New York City this week.

Blake’s irreverent, self-deprecating humor should make for a hilarious show, as the “Voice” coach said he’s not afraid to get down and dirty, or embarrass himself.

“I have absolutely no pride or self-esteem, so I think they’re working with a blank canvas,” hesaid. “There’s not much I’m not willing to try.”

The star ran through a few promos with Cecily Strong, including a spot taking shots at his age-old faux-nemesis, Adam Levine.

(Adam hosted the show in January 2013, with musical guest Kendrick Lamar.)

“Hey Blake, I’ve always been curious – is your rivalry with Adam Levine on ‘The Voice’ real? Or are you just like playing it for TV?” Cecily asked Blake during the promo.

“It’s real. I mean, it’s so real. In fact, that guy is such a punk,” answered Bake. “I actually have a message for you right now, Adam. Hey Adam, looks who’s hosting ‘SNL’ now, pretty boy! HA!'”

Blake joins the impressive ranks of singers who’ve simultaneously hosted the iconic NBC sketch show while acting as musical guest, including Justin Timberlake, Drake, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, Mick Jagger and more.
