Bobbi Kristina Brown Dies; Whitney Houston & Bobby Brown’s Daughter Was 22

Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, died on Sunday, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

She was 22.

“Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday, July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family,” the Houston family said in a statement to Access Hollywood on Sunday night. “She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”

Bobbi Kristina’s death comes nearly six months after police and rescue personnel responded to a 911 call at Bobbi Kristina’s Atlanta home on January 31, 2015.

The 911 call came in at 10:25 AM after Nick Gordon and a friend found her unresponsive in a bathtub, Roswell Police previously said in a statement. Gordon said he performed CPR until authorities arrived. Rescue personnel then took over life-saving measures and transported her to Atlanta’s North Fulton Hospital.

Following the January 31 incident, Bobbi Kristina was hospitalized at the North Fulton Hospital near Atlanta for three days and then was transferred to Atlanta’s Emory University Hospital, where she remained until March 20, at which time she was moved to a rehabilitation facility in Atlanta.

On June 24, prior to her death, sources had confirmed to Access Hollywood that Bobbi Kristina’s organs were failing and she had been taken off all medications. Prior to the decision to stop medication, sources told Access that the family had consulted with a top brain specialist in Chicago, who informed the family there was “no hope” of Bobbi Kristina coming out of the coma.

At that time, the family decided to move her to a hospice facility in the Atlanta area.

Bobbi Kristina’s mother, Whitney Houston, passed away a little over three years ago under similar circumstances. The singer was found in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills the night before 2012 Grammy Awards.

In a 1993 interview with Rolling Stone, Houston opened up about the birth of her daughter.

“Having Bobbi Kristina … I could never do anything that could top that. There’s been nothing more incredible in my life than having her. God knows, I have been in front of millions and millions of people, and that has been incredible, to feel that give-take thing. But, man, when I gave birth to her and when they put her in my arms, I thought: This has got to be it. This is the ultimate. I haven’t experienced anything greater,” she told the mag at the time.

In October 2012, Bobbi Kristina spoke to Access Hollywood about her late mother and how the chart-topping multi-Grammy-winning singer influenced her.

“What gives me the strength is my family and knowing that she is watching down on us. And applauding and being happy and smiling and rejoicing,” she told Access at the time. “She was an angel. She was an amazing, amazing person. … she taught me everything I know. She made the woman who I am today.”

In recent years, rumors swirled in the media about whether Bobbi Kristina was married to Nick Gordon, a close Houston family friend, who Bobbi Kristina previously referred to as someone she was married to. She was very active with Nick on social media over the years, often posting affectionate photos of herself with him, including one shot of their hands touching with the caption, “Being in love is thee BEST feeling in the world when it’s with Y O U . . . iLoveYouBaby @nickgordan.”

Bobbi Kristina started off 2015, seemingly in a good place, Tweeting to her followers, “HappyHappy New year every1 ! pray you all had a great one & are accomplishing any&every #NewYearsResolutions I know I am will & have2..!xxo”

During her short life, Bobbi Kristina shared the stage with her famous mother numerous times often singing, “My Love Is Your Love.” She also appeared on Whitney’s holiday album where she sang on “Little Drummer Boy.”

Fans first got to know Whitney & Bobby’s daughter on the 2005 reality show, “Being Bobby Brown,” where she appeared with her famous parents. The series ran for one season on Bravo.

She also starred on Lifetime’s “The Houstons: On Our Own” in 2012 and also showed off her acting chops on “Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse” in the same year.
