Brad Pitt Joins George Clooney In Prop 8 Play

Dustin Lance Black’s play “8,” which chronicles the legal fight to overturn Proposition 8 in California, has landed yet another major star for Saturday’s reading.

Brad Pitt will play United States District Chief Judge Vaughn R. Walker, who ruled that the controversial proposition – which outlawed gay marriage in the state – was unconstitutional during the high-profile 12-day public trial in 2010.

Pitt joins a star-studded cast that includes his pal George Clooney (as one of the lawyers in the case), Christine Lahti and Jamie Lee Curtis (playing a lesbian couple) and Matthew Morrison and Matt Bomer (playing a gay couple).

Other stars reading Black’s play include Kevin Bacon, Jane Lynch, John C. Reilly, Chris Colfer and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

The American Foundation for Equal Rights also announced on Thursday that the reading will be streamed live on YouTube on March 3 at 7:45 PM PT, preceded by a pre-show at 7:30 PM.
