Brandy and ‘Dancing’ partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy might have been unexpectedly booted from the ballroom on Tuesday’s semi-final results show, but the R&B singer tells Access Hollywood she’s leaving with something far more important than a mirrorball trophy.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better partner and I’m just so thankful for what he has brought to the surface, inside of me, and that’s my confidence, strength, passion… all of that reawakened in me and I thought it was gone,” Brandy told Access on Tuesday.
“I didn’t know how to find it, you know, I couldn’t even find it in the studio, I’m like, ‘What’s wrong with me?’ And then I meet him and it’s like, ‘Oh, I’m back!’” she continued. “That’s better than anything I could ever ask for.”
Maks said he and Brandy did everything possible to stay in the competition.
“It’s just the nature of the show… we are responsible for Monday nights and whatever happens after that is not up to us,” Maks told Access. “The way she performed it, it was phenomenal. It was definitely a tango to remember.”

Season 11 of “Dancing with the Stars” concludes next week with the final round of competition kicking off on Monday at 8 PM ET/PT on ABC.
