Bret Michaels Receiving Outpatient Care After ‘Warning Stroke,’ Still Headed To ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ Finale

Bret Michaels isn’t out of the woods just yet.

The star is receiving outpatient care following another hospitalization after his latest medical setback, his rep told Access Hollywood on Thursday.

In a message posted to his Facebook page earlier on Thursday, it was announced Bret suffered a “warning stroke.”

The attack left him suffering from “numbness on the left side of his body.”

Tests conducted on the rocker also revealed another problem, a patent forum ovale – a hole in his heart, the post on his Facebook page noted.

“There is no doubt that the positive Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) is devastating news to Bret and his family,” his neurosurgeon, Dr. Zabramski, said in a statement posted on the site. “The good news is that it is operable and treatable and we think we may have diagnosed the problem that caused the Transient Ischemic… however we feel it is highly unlikely this is connected to the brain hemorrhage he suffered just a few weeks earlier.”

According to the doctor, further tests “will be conducted throughout the week.”

The bad news came after Bret had begun recovering from a subarachnoid hemorrhage last month, which in turn came weeks after an emergency appendectomy.

Bret’s rep told Access that he still plans on taking part in Sunday night’s live “Celebrity Apprentice” finale, in which he’ll face off against Holly Robinson Peete for the title.

“We’re hoping he can still make it,” the “Apprentice” team added to Access.

The rep did not mention how his latest health woes may effect his previously announced plans to return to touring.

In a statement on the Facebook page, Bret’s rep said the rocker was in “good spirits.”

“He is up, walking, talking, continuing his daily rehab and very happy to be alive but he has made it clear he is sick and tired of being in the hospital and is ready to rock again,” the rep said in the statement.
