Bristol Palin Says Mom’s ‘Boo-Gate’ Caused By ‘Just A Few Haters’

“Dancing with the Stars” contestant Bristol Palin told Access Hollywood that reports of mom Sarah Palin being booed on Monday’s show were not true.

“I think it was just a few haters out there that want to make a big deal out of it, but it’s not a big deal at all,” Bristol told Access’ Shaun Robinson following Tuesday’s show, where Michael Bolton was sent packing. “All of us knew that they were booing at [Jennifer Grey & Derek Hough’s] scores, not at my mom and I’m not worried about it at all.”

On Monday’s show, right before host Tom Bergeron interviewed Sarah Palin, who came to watch her daughter compete, a host of “boos” were heard from the audience, and a clip ABC showed on Tuesday served to demonstrate that the audience’s sounds were actually related to the scores Jennifer and Derek received.

Bristol’s partner, Mark Ballas, agreed, telling Shaun, “I just think it’s just some people stirring up some stupid stuff… they were just booing the scores, I mean I thought Derek and Jennifer could have gotten a higher score too.”

Shaun also spoke to Derek, whose performance with Jennifer was in the middle of “Boo-Gate.”

“I was very happy with the scores and we’re very flattered that the audience thought we should have got higher ones,” he explained. “But, that is so odd how that got misconstrued, but whatever, it’s all good, and it’s all great.”
