Britney Spears Explains Injury: ‘I Tore Some Ligaments’

Ouch! Britney Spears brought her ankle boot to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday.

The singer explained what happened in the moments leading up to her on-stage fall.

“I actually wasn’t doing anything that hard – I was just like, boppin’ around. I’ve done like eight years’ worth of shows – plenty of shows – and I’ve never actually fell on stage. So that was really kind of embarrassing,” Britney told Ellen. “I fell down, then I got back up and my dancers kind of guided me to keep going.”

The 33-year-old beauty shared her official diagnosis.

“I tore some ligaments,” she said.

Despite the injury (which is temporarily sidelined the star), Britney did have some good news to share – she’s extending her Las Vegas “Piece of Me” run for an additional three months.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Britney fell while performing “Crazy” at her Planet Hollywood show last week.

She was forced to postpone her next few shows, but will reschedule them for fans.
