Britney Spears Hits Las Vegas For Opening Of LAX Nightclub

Britney Spears is on the comeback trail, y’all.

Brit took the next step in her attempt to regain her pop icon status as she hit Sin City on Friday night to help kickoff the opening of the LAX Nightclub at the Luxor Hotel and Casino.

As flash bulbs illuminated the Vegas night, Britney hit the red carpet shortly after midnight sporting a long blonde wig, white fedora and a flowing white mini dress, dispelling online reports she had cancelled her highly publicized appearance.

She strode down the red carpet as her single “Gimme More” blared from inside the nightclub. While she didn’t stop for any interviews, she certainly gave photographers and cameramen all they could handle as she paused and smiled for pictures before disappearing into the club.

As celebrity pals including Nicky Hilton, Wilmer Valderrama, Dave Navarro and Brody Jenner enjoyed the scene inside the club, Brit made her way to the DJ booth where DJ AM was stationed.

“How you guys feeling? Let’s have a good night,” she reportedly said to the packed house.

Britney then made her way to the VIP area where she reportedly hung out with illusionist Criss Angel, who has been frequently seen with Brit over the past few weeks. Angel is reportedly assisting the pop star with her upcoming act at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 9.

According to People magazine, the pair eventually made their way to the dance floor, where at one point Britney took Angel’s lollipop out of his mouth and put it in hers.

The two then spent some time at the Noir Bar next door before returning to LAX a short time later.

When Access Hollywood caught up with Angel on the red carpet prior to Brit’s arrival, the magician played coy when asked about rumors the two were collaborating on her VMA performance, saying a good illusionist can’t reveal his secrets.

On Friday, Britney’s record label confirmed her new album would be released on November 13. The news came the same day her “Gimme More” single debuted tomixed reviews.
