Brooke Burke & Derek Hough Score ‘Dancing’s’ First 10  Of The Season

For the third week in a row, Brooke Burke triumphed in the ballroom during the competition round of “Dancing With the Stars.”

Brooke, who danced the Viennese waltz with her partner, professional Derek Hough, obtained the first 10 given out during Season 7. The two were given a perfect score by judge Len Goodman who was thrilled by their moving ballroom dance.

“Simply the best dance of the season,” Len raved, following their performance.

And even though Derek had passed out after tripping during an earlier rehearsal, his moves helped Brooke shine in front of judge Carrie Ann Inaba as well.

“Brooke, you are quickly becoming my favorite dancer,” she said just before the couple received a total of 28 out of 30 points from the show’s three judges. “Your inner beauty manifests itself when you dance and you are a pleasure to watch.”

But former football player Warren Sapp proved he wasn’t ready to admit defeat.

Warren, who hit the floor with professional Kym Johnson, also danced a moving Viennese waltz, which netted the pair 25 out of 30, and super-praise from Carrie Ann.

“I think I have a crush on you,” Carrie Ann gushed. “I think what you did out there is a dream come true. Every girl wants a big hunkin’ guy out there to sweep her off her feet… Mind blowing.”

Another athlete, former Olympian Maurice Greene, who danced with professional Cheryl Burke, came in a close third, netting 24 out of 30 points thanks to a spirited jive.

“You’re kind of wild, like an untamed beast, but it works perfectly in the jive,” Carrie Ann said.

But one athlete was missing from the competition. Misty May-Treanor confirmed she is departing from the ballroom after tearing her Achilles tendon during a Friday rehearsal.

“I am out,” Misty, who hit the stage in crutches and with her lower left leg in a cast, told “Dancing” host Tom Bergeron. “I’m not out of cheering on the competitors and keeping in touch with everybody, but I am now gonna be on the sidelines.”

The volleyball star said she was sad that her departure ends Maks’ season as well.

“First off, I think all the women are going to be upset with me because he was only on the show for this amount of time,” Misty said. “I couldn’t have picked a better partner to be with. He’s taught me so much… He’s such an awesome dancer and I learned the best moves from him… He’s a very sensitive, caring guy and I feel like the world needs more Maksims.”
