Brooke Burke & Derek Hough Top ‘Dancing’ Leaderboard Again

Keeping in step with the first few weeks of the season thus far, Brooke Burke and Derek Hough continued their reign on “Dancing With the Stars” on Monday night.

The couple took on a sexy samba, which despite being the fourth week of the celebrity reality dancing competition, left most of the judging panel in awe.

“I’m telling you a sex bomb has hit the building. Take cover,” judge Bruno Tonioli raved. “This was raunchy with a capital ‘Rrrrrr!’”

Judge Len Goodman, who in weeks past championed the couple, felt the dance, which saw Brooke shake her booty across the dance floor in a tiny skirt and sparkly bikini top, was “too erotic” for his tastes.

But their scores still ended up the best of the night as, Brooke and Derek netted 26 out of 30.

Last week, Misty May-Treanor dropped out of the competition due to an injury and as a result, no couple was eliminated during the third week of “Dancing.” As a result, all the couples were forced to add last week and this week’s scores together, putting Brooke and Derek at the top of the leaderboard for the fourth week in a row, with an impressive 54 out of 60.

Former *NSYNC star Lance Bass proved he was back in the game on Tuesday night, bringing a modern twist to the tango – a modernity he left out last week after his twists left Len reeling. This week, however, his combination of modern with classical ended up right on the money and Lance and his partner, Lacey Schwimmer, scored 26 out of 30. Their two-week total of 48 out of 60 landed them in second place.

“You are Sir Dance-A-Lot,” Len enthused. “That’s my big line.”

But Warren Sapp and his partner, Kym Johnson, proved they are still after a place in the finals, which are still weeks away.

The big man and his Aussie partner performed one of the better sambas of the night, but it didn’t quite floor the judges, who were expecting to be wowed at this point in the contest.

“You really are the ‘Big Easy,’ the crowd pleaser,” Bruno said. “You come out and people love you, but you took it a little too easy. You can dance! You can do it. You have all the ability necessary to blow us away. You know that.”

The leaderboard scores for Week 4 of “Dancing With the Stars” were:

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough 26/30; 54/60
Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer 26/30; 48/60
Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson 22/30; 47/60
