Brooke Burke & Derek Hough Win ‘Dancing With The Stars’

After 10 weeks of competition, Brooke Burke was crowned the “Dancing With the Stars” queen on Tuesday night.

Brooke and her partner, Derek Hough, took home the title and the coveted mirror ball trophy after one of the most consistent set of performances of any season in “Dancing” history.

As the news was announced, Brooke was almost speechless.

When asked by “DWTS” co-host Tom Bergeron how she felt, the grinning ballroom babe simply said, “Unbelievable!”

But her partner Derek (whose best friend Mark Ballas won last season with Kristi Yamaguchi, and whose sister Julianne Hough, has won the mirror ball twice), had plenty of things to say.

“Oh my gosh! I actually can’t believe it,” the 23-year-old exclaimed. “The journey’s been so long. It’s been tough, it’s been wonderful… And, I can’t believe we actually did it.”

As Derek and Brooke hugged and celebrated their well-deserved victory, Julianne and Mark ran out to congratulate the new champions.

And though Brooke walked away with the shining mirror ball trophy, Warren Sapp, who came in a close second with his partner, Aussie Kym Johnson, was not too disappointed he missed snagging the title.

He called his experience on “DWTS” “absolutely wonderful,” adding “I’m just glad I didn’t do any disrespect to the football guys.”

Lance Bass, who took the number three position with professional partner Lacey Schwimmer, was also thrilled he made it to the finals. And, he said it’s something his former *NSYNC buddy Joey Fatone, who made it to second place during Season 4, will be ribbing him about in the future.

“It has so been worth it. This has been the most fun I’ve ever had in my entire life,” Lance enthused. “Joey will never let me live it down.”

All the contestants from Season 7 came back for the finale, including a newly-mobile Misty May Treanor, who was forced to withdraw from the competition early in the season after tearing her Achilles tendon, an injury which required surgery.

“It’s good,” Misty told Tom about her healing ankle. “I’m able to walk. I got cleared on Wednesday to walk. I get to spend a lot more time with my husband, but I’m eager to get back on the dance floor… I never got to finish.”
