Brooke & Derek Get Their Mojo Back On ‘Dancing’

After a week off the top spot, Brooke Burke and her partner, professional Derek Hough, resumed their prime spot on the leaderboard once again on “Dancing With the Stars,” but this time, it was with a perfect score.

Model Brooke and Derek netted the first perfect score of the “Dancing” season with an elegant foxtrot.

“Wow! Wow! Wow!” judge Carrie Ann Inaba enthused. “Our frontrunner has returned… Derek, you’re right, she is getting as good as some of our professionals.”

Brooke and Derek took the top spot from Lacey Schwimmer and Lance Bass, who stormed into the lead last week after Brooke and Derek had their worst dance of the season.

But it wasn’t all bad news for Lance and Lacey. Though they didn’t net the top score of the night, they scored 25 out of 30 for a barefooted rumba, which left Len Goodman puzzled, but Carrie Ann thrilled.

“Once in a while you take a great risk and it’s a great pay off,” Carrie Ann said.

Former Olympian Maurice Greene and partner Cheryl Burke, tied Lance and Lacey for second in the individual round, with a hot cha cha.

“It was like cheap jewelry, bright and sparkling, not always top quality,” Len said. “I thought it was your best dance.”

Though Lance and Lacey did well in the individual round, the newly instituted team dance part of the competition, which was also scored, brought them down on the leaderboard. A cha cha with pairs Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani, and Cody Linley and Edyta Sliwinska added just 20 points to their total score.

Team Paso Doble, made up of Maurice and Cheryl, Brooke and Derek and Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson, however, took home a handsome 29 out of 30, boosting the scores of the individual pairs in that group considerably. The extra points helped put Maurice in a solid second on the final leaderboard total, while Warren Kym, also from Team Paso Doble, got enough to give them third.

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough 30/30
