The actress (who recently had a guest arc in “The Middle”) will play Air Force Colonel Katherine “Kat” Young.

Brooke’s character has been described by the network as, “a crack C-17 pilot who can hold her own in the boys club atmosphere of the military.”

She’ll clash in her new assignment at Joint Base Marshall Bring with Army General Michael Holden (Brian McNamara).

Her character will also have a tragic past that will be revealed throughout the season.
