Brooke Shields Talks Katie, Disney, Motherhood

LOS ANGELES (February 2, 2007)- Brooke Shields has opened up to Access Hollywood about motherhood, her friendship with Katie Holmes and her new job, playing Hannah Montana?s mom.?What happened that triggered your friendship with Katie?? Bush asked Shields.?Motherhood does it,? she replied. ?It bonds people in a certain way.” “We had babies the same day,” she added. “We were all just thrown together and she is a lovely person so it’s easy.” And a beautiful friendship was born. Brooke Shields had her daughter Grier not only the same day ? April 18th, but in the very same hospital and the same floor that Katie Holmes gave birth to Suri. “Did she call you for advice on motherhood or anything?” Billy asked Brooke. I am not the one that you want to talk to about advice on motherhood,? she answered. “I am a mom of two I don’t know if you ever know if you know how to do it correctly. Advice aside, Brooke and her husband Chris Henchy did get an invite to Tom and Katie’s Italian nuptials.” You were at the big extravagant Tom and Katie wedding in Rome did you know I was there?” Billy asked. “You were there! I saw you so I waved,” she said.?Paparazzi were lighting up the cars inside as they came in I think we had eye contact for a minute,? Billy suggested. “We definitely did and then once out in the crowd,” she confirmed.Billy then asked if Brooke, via her friendship with the Cruises was introduced to Scientology.?I’m not very schooled at all on it I am very unaware of it actually,? she said.So that?s no Scientology, but definitely Disney-ology as Billy transitioned into asking Brooke about her new role as Hannah Montana?s mom, which will start screening this summer.Brooke is guest starring opposite Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus on “Hannah Montana,” quite a departure from her most recent TV role. The last time Billy ran into Brooke on a set was when she was filming an aggressive love scene with Julian McMahon on “Nip/Tuck.” “Was this [role] to balance yourself out”? Billy asked. “It’s good to balance it out,” she replied. “You need [to] balance it out, you need a little Disney, you need a little “Nip/Tuck.”?
