Bryan Adams Gearing Up For First-Time Fatherhood; Rocker Reveals He & Assistant Are Expecting

Rock balladeer Bryan Adams is going to be a father.

The Canadian superstar, responsible for such hits as “Summer Of ‘69,” and “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You,” and his assistant, Alicia Grimaldi, are expecting their first child, Bryan confirmed in a statement.

“Alicia Grimaldi and I are expecting a baby,” Bryan’s statement to Access Hollywood read. “She helped me start my foundation years ago and it looks like she’ll be running the family now. Thanks for your support and kind messages, we appreciate it greatly.”

Bryan first confirmed the news on Sunday in a Tweet, linking to an article titled, “Bryan Adams to become dad at 51,” on the CBC News website, and Tweeting, “this article is sort of correct (except for the ‘friend’ bit).”

The “friend” portion of Bryan’s Tweet likely referred to a source, which told British newspaper, the Telegraph about the baby news.

Alicia is a trustee of the Bryan Adams Foundation. She reportedly helped set up the group in 2004, according to CBC News.

Bryan has recently been promoting his 2010 album, “Bare Bones,” which features stripped down versions of some of his biggest hits and favorite songs.
