“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Camille Grammer is getting candid about how she’s been portrayed on the hit Bravo series, whether she’ll return and how she’s coping with her divorce proceedings from Kelsey Grammer.
“I don’t like the person, I can’t watch her. I can’t watch myself on TV. I look at the person and go, ‘Who is that?’ That’s not me. I think I’m awful on it,” Camille told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson on Thursday.
“It’s too bad because I don’t think they show the complete Camille Grammer, you know? You see bits and pieces of who I am, but I don’t think it’s an accurate portrayal of who I am.”
Camille explained that she has a hard time watching the few episodes she’s seen, saying simply, “I cringe.”
As for her future on the hit Bravo reality show, she’s uncertain if she’ll step in front of the cameras again.
“We haven’t decided… there’s a lot going on in my personal life,” she told Shaun. “I’m going through a divorce and my priority right now is my children and I want to make sure that they’re happy and I spend as much time with them as possible,” she explained.
“I don’t really think it’s an accurate portrayal of who I am on the show and that would cause me not to go back and I have some concerns about that… I can’t watch who I am on that show. Based on that I wouldn’t go back.”
Camille said communication with the former “Frasier” star has broken down.
“We don’t speak. I try, I think it’s really important for us to keep an open dialogue for our children, I think that’s the way to co-parent,” she revealed. “It’s only through email or text or through lawyers. We don’t talk about the show at all because we don’t speak… when we do communicate through email and through lawyers, it’s only about the children. He doesn’t want to talk about anything else.”
Witnessing Kelsey with fiancee Kayte Walsh, 29, has been difficult for the reality star.
”[Seeing] him walking down the street or in the park with his puppy and kissing his new fiancee, which is shocking to me, and I found out most of this through reading the press… that she was pregnant,” she explained. “How bizarre to find out through some British tabloid that my husband’s girlfriend is pregnant and it was only what? — Two weeks or three weeks after I filed for divorce I found that out.”
Camille filed for divorce on July 2, 2010 and news of Kayte Walsh’s pregnancy broke on August 12, 2010.
Despite her relationship troubles, Camille told Shaun that she has found support in her fellow ‘Housewives.’
“It’s very difficult, I could say it’s very difficult. There’s times I go back in my bedroom and I cry and I don’t want my children to see me upset, because I have to be strong for them,” she said. “I have my family and my friends, I have to say my family has been amazing, they’ve been so supportive,” Camille told Shaun.
“Lisa [VanderPump] has reached out to me, she’s my friend, she’s been absolutely lovely and Adrienne [Maloof] has been great.”
As for her sometimes-explosive relationship with her co-stars, Camille says to stay tuned for more to be revealed.
“If you watch the reunion show everything gets exposed,” she added. “So, you’ll see a lot of truth comes out in the reunion show.”
