Campbell Scott Gets ‘Really Weird’ In New TV Movie

LOS ANGELES (October 11, 2006) — Campbell Scott has a steady gig in the new ABC series “Six Degrees.” But a big paycheck lured him into a “really weird” new TV movie.

Campbell co-stars with Daryl Hannah in “Final Days of Planet Earth,” which airs Oct. 14 on the Hallmark Channel.

He plays an astronaut who is kidnapped by alien insects while on a space mission. Three years later his character is rescued, on the verge of insanity, and discovers that his former colleague — played by Hannah — is now the Alien Queen. Hannah’s character is bent on destroying the city with her fellow insects, who are disguised as human beings.

Campbell pulls no punches about why he signed up.

“I got offered a lot of money to work on something that is fast and fun and really weird,” he said. “I also love working in Vancouver. It is a beautiful city.”

Scott’s new ABC series is based in New York.

“It’s not unusual for us to finish work at 2 in the morning,” he said. “But being in New York, there is this energy. That’s why I love it so much.”
