Carrie Underwood Planning Children ‘Far In The Future’ With Mike Fisher

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher hope to expand their family – one day. But the happily married couple, now in their second year of wedded bliss, have differing opinions on how big their family should grow.

“He would love to have a big family… he grew up with a big family, but I think his parents are far better than I, and far more patient then I,” Carrie laughed on the “American Idol” Results Show red carpet, while speaking with AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman.

Mike previously told Oprah Winfrey, in an episode of “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” that he’d like to have seven children.

Carrie would like a few less.

“I think I’ll win that battle,” she laughed.

“I think two’s good,” she added. “He’d like four, probably. “

Carrie said their plans to expand are “far in the future,” but when they have children, and get the hang of the first two, “then, we adopt kids,” she said. “That’s kind of my dream,” she added.

But fans can steer clear of picking up bootie knitting needles any time soon.

“We just got married — we’re not even two years in,” Carrie said, of waiting until the time is right for kids, instead of right now. “I like being able to do what we want, when we want. “
