Carrie Underwood Rides To The Top Of Charts

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (October 24, 2007) – Carrie Underwood, American Idol season 4 winner, debuts in the top spot with her second album, “Carnival Ride.”

Underwood’s massive sales gave her the best-selling debut week of any female artist in 2007.

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss debuted in the second spot with their collaboration, “Raising Sand.”

The chart was full of debuts, with Gary Allan’s “Living Hard” and Serj Tankian’s “Elected the Dead,” also debuting, followed by Josh Groban’s “Noel.”

Online music fans are still hot for Chris Brown’s “Kiss Kiss,” which remained at the top of the digital singles chart.

Timbaland’s “Apologize” and Soulja Boy Tell’Em’s “Crank That” switched places from last week, coming in at No. 2 and No. 3. Followed by, Colbie Caillat’s “Bubbly” and Alicia Keys “No One” rounding out the top five digital singles.
