Carrie Underwood Talks Wedding Details

Carrie Underwood has opened up about her upcoming marriage to hockey star Mike Fisher, which will occur later this year.

The former “American Idol” Season 4 winner revealed she and her husband-to-be would be forgoing some traditions – like the wedding cake — at their nuptials later this year.

“We’re kind of doing cupcakes,” Carrie told CMT Radio Live’s Cody Alan recently, noting the cakes will come from IveyCake, a Franklin, Tenn., shop owned by her bass player’s wife, Ivey.

“I consider myself a very traditional person but… More than anything, we’re gonna get married, that’s the important part,” Carrie continued. “And we want everybody to have a good time, so we’re doing some things like that that are a little bit different.”

IveyCake’s Web site was down on Monday afternoon, no doubt thanks to the plug by the former “Idol,” but they reportedly sell a host of delicious treats with unusual names like, “The Apology,” “Bad Kisser,” “Crazy Ex,” and “Gold Digger,” according to the Cupckates Take the Cake blog.

Carrie also revealed that her wedding won’t be a giant affair.

“We are trying to keep it small,” Carrie said.
