Casting Call: Kurt Russell In Talks To Replace Kevin Costner In Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’

Kurt Russell is reportedly set to join forces with Quentin Tarantino again.

The actor, who worked with the legendary writer/director for 2007’s “Grindhouse,” is in talks to join Tarantino’s latest project, “Django Unchained,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Russell, 60, would play malicious plantation overseer Ace – a role originally given to Kevin Costner, who bowed out of the project last week due to scheduling conflicts, according to the mag.

The movie, which boasts an all-star cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz and Jamie Foxx, is slated for theatrical release on Christmas Day 2012.

In related “Django” news, People reported “Inglourious Basterds” star Christoph Waltz recently suffered a pelvic injury during equestrian training on the set of the western drama.

“Christoph Waltz was injured while training with his horse in preparation for his role,” the actor’s rep told the mag in a statement in a story posted on Friday. “Waltz is currently being treated for a dislocated pelvic bone and is looking forward to getting back in the saddle.”

“Django’s” production schedule remains unchanged, the mag reports, and the Academy Award winner is expected to make a full recovery.
