Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks to star in “Farragut North,” the big screen version of Beau Willimon’s play, according to Variety.
Additionally, George Clooney is reportedly in talksto direct the film. It is unclear whether he would also appear in the film.
The story follows a young communications director who works for an up-and-coming White House hopeful. However, during his campaign, he is exposed to the dark side and dirty tricks of his more-experienced rivals.
Willimon, who is writing the script, worked for Howard Dean during his presidential run in 2004.
The play will hit Broadway next year, with Jake Gyllenhaal in talks to star in his stage debut.
Leo, who was last seen in the 2006 film “Blood Diamond,” recently wrapped production on the drama “Revolutionary Road” opposite his former “Titanic” co-star Kate Winslet.
He is currently filming the war drama “Body of Lies,” alongside Russell Crowe.

Eric Bana has joined the cast of the new “Star Trek” film as the villain Nero, Variety repors.
In the latest big screen installment of the legendary sci-fi series, Bana joins the previously casted Zachary Qunito, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin and Leonard Nimoy.
J.J. Abrams hopped aboard the USS Enterprise long ago as director.
Plot lines are being kept under wraps and the studio still needs to fill in several major casting holes including a young Captain Kirk and Scotty.
However, one actor rumored to be stepping into the formidable shoes of James T. Kirk is
Hollywood up-and-comer Chris Pine, who according to The Hollywood Reporter is in talks for the role.
Shooting is slated to begin in November. “Star Trek” will hit theaters Christmas Day 2008.

Matthew Broderick and Sanaa Lathan will star in the indie feature “Wonderful World,” reports Variety.
The film follows a depressed, divorced and unemployed father who finds comfort in his roommate’s sister.
Broderick, who was last seen with Danny DeVito in the holiday laugher “Deck the Halls,” will next appear on the big screen in “Then She Found Me,” co-starring Colin Firth, Helen Hunt and Bette Midler.
Lathan’s film credits include “AVP: Alien vs. Predator,” “Out Of Time” and “Love & Basketball.”
She also is known for playing Michelle Landau on FX’s “Nip/Tuck.”
