Casting Call: Ryan Reynolds & Bradley Cooper Team Up For Cop Comedy

Stick ‘em up! Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper are on the case.

The Hollywood heartthrobs are teaming up for a new cop action/comedy, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Risky Business blog.

The film – written by Sheldon Turner (“Law Abiding Citizen”; “Snakes On A Plane”) — centers around two San Francisco cops who are forced to work with their retired former police office fathers to help solve a crime.

According to the trade mag, the movie is expected to “have an updated ‘Lethal Weapon’ flavor that plays into edgier R-rated territory.”

Reynolds’ recent credits include “Paper Man,” “Adventureland” and “The Proposal.” He will next be seen in the Lionsgate thriller “Buried” and recently wrapped production on his title character turn in “Green Lantern,” which will hit theaters in June 2011.

Cooper – who recently appeared in “The A-Team” and “Valentine’s Day” – has several new projects in the works, including the thriller “The Dark Fields” with Robert De Niro; and “The Hangover 2,” which is slated for a May 2011 release.
