Celebs Face Evacuation, Danger In Malibu Fire

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (October 22, 2007) – Actress Suzanne Somers has been evacuated from her temporary residence in Malibu as a result of the latest fire burning in the celebrity filled coastal community.

Somers lost her beachfront home in another Malibu fire in January 2007 and now Access Hollywood has learned the new fire is threatening the temporary home she has been residing in.

Somers isn’t the only celebrity affected by the disaster.

Land and two trailers owned by actor Sean Penn were consumed by the blaze as Sunday’s flames crept down a Malibu hillside. This isn’t the first time that Penn has lost property due to a Malibu fire either. He put up the trailers next to the remains of his original home, which was destroyed in 1993.

Former “Friends” star Courteney Cox and David Arquette have also been affected by the burning. Firemen stormed their property grounds, hosing down their house as flames encroached upon the structure. According to X17, Cox was home at the time.

Dreamworks executive Jeffrey Katzenberg had his own team of private firemen on scene Sunday, foaming down his property with a flame retardant substance. Access Hollywood has learned Katzenberg has his own private fire fighting team on his payroll.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the home owned by “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Jane Seymour is in an area threatened by the flames. Her rep told Access on Monday, her property and family remain safe.
