Channing Tatum On Having His Baby Abroad: ‘I Hope It Doesn’t Just Pop Out With A Weird Accent’

Channing Tatum has revealed his first child will be born overseas.

The actor and his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, revealed on the Oscars 2013 red carpet in Hollywood on Sunday that due to work commitments, their baby will be born in London — something the “Magic Mike” star expanded on during his visit to “Jimmy Kimmel Live After The Oscars.”

“Working, working always… and Jenna’s actually gonna be working and she’s coming over pretty much almost four weeks before she’s gonna have the baby, to London,” Channing said.

The actor, who was born in Alabama, said he’s hoping that having his child abroad won’t affect his little one’s speech.

“I hope it doesn’t just pop out with a weird accent,” he joked.

Jimmy then pointed out that because Channing’s child will be born abroad, the baby won’t be able to grow up to become President.

“It’s pretty depressing actually,” Channing said. “It could be a mayor though… a Governor.”
