Charlie Sheen & Ashton Kutcher Tweet Each Other Over ‘Two And A Half Men’ News; Have Tensions Cooled?

When Charlie Sheen first reacted to the news that Ashton Kutcher was joining his former show, “Two and a Half Men,” the actor had a bristling response. But it appears things have softened somewhat, with Sheen even offering his well wishes to the man stepping in.

“#Winning Congrats to the cast and crew…CBS & WB..! My best to @aplusk !!” Sheen Tweeted on Friday night. “The show must go on… You got the right guy! c.”

Sheen’s well wishes for Kutcher were not lost on the former “That 70’s Show” actor, who Tweeted back his thanks.

”#2.5 @charliesheen Thank man. Always been a fan, always will be!” Kutcher wrote. “BTW you were ‘born big’”

Before his Tweet last night, Sheen originally issued a statement over the casting.

“Ashton Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer. Oh wait, so am I,” Sheen said in his statement to Access Hollywood on Friday. “Enjoy the show America, Enjoy seeing 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB. Enjoy planet Chuck, Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there.”

Jon Cryer, who plays Alan Harper on the series, also released a statement on Friday, expressing his joy that his job and the show were carrying on.

“I’m jazzed about the news this morning that ‘Two and a Half Men’ is coming back! For all the rest of the cast and crew I’m sure they are equally excited,” Cryer’s statement to Access read.

“I want to express my enormous gratitude to Charlie Sheen for eight great seasons,” his statement continued. “I’m extremely proud of the work we’ve done together and I will miss him. But I’m also looking forward to this new beginning.

“Ashton is an extraordinarily talented guy and his presence will be an asset to our show. We are old friends from our male-modeling days and we’re both looking forward to being judged for our comedic artistry, as opposed to our exceptional physical beauty,” Cryer concluded, making a reference to Kutcher’s own model past.
