Chaz Bono might not have taken home the mirrorball trophy during his season on “Dancing with the Stars,” but the activist and reality TV star sure caught the dancing bug!
“I miss it a lot. I loved doing that show. It’s such a great show — the camaraderie, everyone who works on it,” he told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Friday’s Access Hollywood Live. “I go back as much as I can and sit in the audience.”
In addition to rooting on the current crop of “DWTS” contestants,” Chaz is still shaking it on a regular basis on his own.
“I am still dancing, I can’t let it go!” he said. “Just once a week for exercise and fun. I’m taking the time to get all the basics down.”
So who does Chaz think has a chance of taking home the “DWTS” trophy this year?
“I think who could take it home is William [Levy]. The women just love him,” he told Billy and Kit.
On Saturday, the activist/author will be honored by GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award for making made a difference in promoting equality.
“For me, a transgender man, there’s still so little known about us. And for me to get out there and be on TV, it might be the only chance somebody has out there to get to understand a little bit about this issue,” Chaz, who is the first transgender person to ever receive the award, explained.
Adding, “This was probably one of the greatest years of my life.”
