Chiwetel Ejiofor – Next Bond Villain?

Fresh off his Oscar-nominated performance as Solomon Northup in “12 Years a Slave,” Chiwetel Ejiofor may be taking on a more antagonistic role.

According to The Wrap, the actor is the frontrunner to play the next villain in the upcoming Sam Mendes-directed James Bond film.

Daniel Craig will once again play the dashing superspy for the 24th installment of the British franchise, while Ralph Fiennes (M), Naomie Harris (Moneypenny) and Ben Whishaw (Q) are all set to return as well.

Javier Bardem played the most recent Bond villain in 2012’s “Skyfall” (also helmed by Mendes), which grossed over $1 billion worldwide.

Ejiofor will next be seen in “Z for Zachariah” alongside Margot Robbie and Chris Pine, set to hit theaters next year.
