Chloë Grace Moretz Reveals She Wanted Plastic Surgery At 16

Chloë Grace Moretz almost let the
pressures of Hollywood get to her – almost.

In a new
interview with ELLE, the outspoken star revealed that she was once so unhappy
with her looks that she considered going under the knife at a shockingly
young age.

“When I was 16, I wanted a boob job,” Chloë told the mag. “I
wanted the fat pad under my chin to be removed. I wanted a butt reduction, or whatever.”

Thanks to stern disapproval from her mother, however, Chloë said she learned to
accept herself as is and turn that self-doubt into an asset.

“My mom said, ‘Absolutely not, you’re not allowed to have
plastic surgery,'” Chloë continued. “And because of that, I found a lot of power
within my insecurities. They’re what make me who I am now.”

The
now-19-year-old has since made it her mission to inspire other girls to embrace
their natural beauty and avoid the temptation to alter their appearance, even
digitally.

“I try to keep it natural. I try to break
barriers,” she said. “I try to not post Instagrams where I Facetune
my face and I wear a ton of makeup. I want to be as natural as can be. And I
want to break it down for young women so they understand that you’re not just
‘born’ like this.”

Chloë’s confidence requires more
than just a mental commitment. While the “Neighbors 2” star admitted
she does partake in certain cosmetic enhancements, she was also forthcoming
about the physical action and lifestyle choices that help her feel – and look –
her best.

“Yes, I have had hair extensions. Yes, the reason I have
this body is because I work out seven times a week. Yes, I eat really clean – even though I don’t always
want to, and I definitely cheat,” she explained. “But you’re not just
born with this. Sometimes you have to fight for and work for things, and be
happy with who you are at the same time. And that’s a really hard balance but I
want to show it to young women.”

Her mother isn’t the only one who’s encouraged her along the
way. Chloë said her boyfriend, Brooklyn Beckham, has also
offered straightforward support.

“I don’t need a man for anything,” Chloë
began, “But when I’m feeling bad about myself, he’s like, ‘Stop. Look at what you say in interviews. Look at what you
stand for. Listen to your own words, because you’re as beautiful as you say you
are! All young women are more beautiful than they think, you know.'”

Those aren’t Brooklyn’s only wise words.

According to Chloë, her 17-year-old beau has also said
he likes her “more in sweatpants” than in a red carpet gown.
