Chris Brown Spends 40 Minutes In Jail; Says He’ll ‘Probably’ Quit Music

Chris Brown was in and out of jail on Monday in under an hour – and now the singer says his hours left in the music world might be dwindling.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the 24-year-old surrendered just before 3 PM in Van Nuys, Calif., where he was held for 40 minutes and released with no bail.

Brown’s booking is a step in the process of getting his hit-and-run charge dismissed. In order for a judge to hear the case – and then drop the charge – Brown needed to be officially put into the system.

The singer previously entered a not-guilty plea to a May 12 hit-and-run charge, which led to his parole being revoked.

After Brown’s quickie jail stop, the singer took to Twitter, where he complained about the attention he’s still receiving for the 2009 beating of former girlfriend Rihanna.

“Being famous is amazing when it’s for ur music and talent. I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when i was 18. I’m cool & over it!,” he wrote.

The singer then teased that he might be quitting music.

“Don’t worry mainstream America. After this X album, it’ll probably be my last album,” he said in another Tweet.
