Chris Hemsworth Talks Secrets Behind Thor Kiss With Natalie Portman

Just how does a human manage a kiss with a Norse god who towers above her?

In “Thor: The Dark World,” Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman share a lip lock, but with the Australian actor standing a whole foot taller than the actress, the creative team behind the latest Marvel movie had to go to special lengths – or should we say, heights – to make the co-stars’ kiss just right.

“We actually had a little ramp that she would walk up,” Chris told Access Hollywood at the Los Angeles premiere on Monday night.

“And gradually she kind of become closer to my heart, which was interesting,” she continued.

The actor said this installment in the Norse god’s story brings everything the fans crave.

“There is a bit of something for everyone [in this movie] — the humor is ramped up, there is romance, action, it’s an event,” he said. “We have plenty of action scenes. The action has been ramped right up in this one.”

The actor also spoke to Access about looking to Mike Tyson for inspiration for his character.

”[I looked at] his fighting style,” he explained. “[Thor’s hammer] needed to be an extension of the body and it wasn’t the kind of thing you throw little jabs with, it’s a big heavy hitting [weapon].”

“Thor: The Dark World” opens in theaters on Friday.
