Chris Noth Talks ‘Sex And The City’: ‘During The Movie I Made Up So Many Lies’

Chris Noth is coming clean over some of the “Sex and The City” rumors he helped start.

The actor who plays Carrie Bradshaw’s love interest-turned-husband, Mr. Big, in the series admitted he hasn’t always been truthful in talking about the franchise.

“During the movie I made up so many lies,” he told Access Hollywood over the weekend at the GLAAD Awards in New York City. “The media took it so seriously it always blew my mind. They’d say, ‘What’s Mr. Big’s real name?’ and I’d say. ‘Joe!’ and they’d go ‘Joe!?!’”

One of the rumors already in overdrive of late with “Sex and The City 2”  in the scriptwriting stage, is that Carrie and Mr. Big will have a child, something Noth said he actually can’t confirm.

“See, that’s another lie,” he laughed. “I’ve got my own baby. I don’t know about Mr. Big. I think that came from someone [who] asked, ‘Could he handle it?’ Of course he could handle it — with a lot of help, which he can afford, depending on whether he had his money with [Bernie] Madoff. Hopefully Mr. Big didn’t.”

And while Sarah Jessica Parker previously told Access she was hoping to move the designer label loving franchise in a direction that addresses the current economic climate, Noth said Mr. Big isn’t likely to downsize to Mr. Medium.

“No, no,” he laughed. “It’s a state of mind Big-ness!”
