Christian Bale Breaks Down At MTV Movie Awards After Seeing Heath Ledger Clips

Christian Bale had trouble holding back his emotions on Sunday night at the MTV Movie Awards after seeing footage of his late co-star, Heath Legder.

The star of “The Dark Knight Rises” appeared with co-stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Gary Oldman, where they introduced a series of clips from “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight,” and after seeing Heath’s performance of The Joker in “The Dark Knight,” Christian was noticeably choked up.

“Man, great to remember Heath in that moment,” the actor said, fighting back his tears.

Adding, “Wonderful to see Heath Ledger there.”

Also on hand was Batman trilogy director Christopher Nolan, who debuted new footage from the upcoming final film in the series.
